Hotel AlixaresHotel Alixares is located in front of the Alhambra, one of the most beautiful monuments all over the World. Hotel Alixares has been completely renovated in 2004. Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II, but suffered through a devastating Civil War (1936-39). Its rooms are climatized and have sat Tv, minibar, fully equiped bathroom, and safety box. In the second half of the 20th century, it has played a catch-up role in the western international community. The hotel has outdoor swimming-pool and it is surrounded by private gardens. Continuing concerns are large-scale unemployment and the Basque separatist movement The diversity and contrast that go to mould the character of Spain are likewise in evidence in its cities.

This is a particularly popular hotel, due to its ideal location an is excellent value for money. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, whish is open during summer period, beginning of may to the end of september depending on weather conditions. A perfect situation just a step away from the Alhambra Palace, Granada's most popular attraction. The city centre es only a afew minutes away.

Travel information

From the airport: Granada airport is 12 km from the city centre. On arrival is better to get a taxi from the airport so that you can get to our hotel without walking through the streets with your luggage. The taxi costs about EUR 25. There is also a bus service which takes you to the centre of Granada. The bus company runs a service between the city centre (Plaza de Isabel La Católica, single fare about EUR 3) and the airport connecting with scheduled flights. From Plaza de Isabel la Católica, go to Plaza Nueva and take the ‘Alhambra minibus’ (departing every 10 min.) which stops slightly further down the hill from the Hotel Alixares. By Car: - There is an easy access via the motorway (Circunvalación - exit 132 - Ronda Sur, Sierra Nevada, Alhambra). It is situated 16 km from the airport (the hotel is at just a few minutes from the road leading to Sierra Nevada). The hotel has secured parking garage (fee required) with limited parking spaces. It is not possible to book a space but if the hotel's parking is full on your arrival you can park at the Alhambra's (secured) car park with the same cost. By Train: From the RENFE train station: There is a bus service (lines 11 – 4 – 9 – 6) near the train station (Avda. de la Constitución) which takes you to the Cathedral (Bus stop Gran Vía 1). Then you have to walk to Plaza Nueva and take the Alhambra Bus
