It occupies the Iberian Peninsula and is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea. Hotel Granada Center was originally designed as an urban hotel, which aimed to provide for all the needs of business travellers as well as cultural tourists. It also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla Its total surface area is 504,788 sq kms Spain's powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England. 10 years on, the hotel has been carefully restored in order to provide a modern environment that still meets the hotel’s original aims. Subsequent failure to embrace the mercantile and industrial revolutions caused the country to fall behind Britain, France, and Germany in economic and political power. This hotel is located close to the famous University and within walking distance of the train station and Cathedral. Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II, but suffered through a devastating Civil War (1936-39). There is also easy access to the airport that is just a short drive away. In the second half of the 20th century, it has played a catch-up role in the western international community. Providing 4-star accommodation and facilities in an excellent location, Hotel Granada Center presents itself as an ideal place to stay when visiting this historic city, whether on business or pleasure. The hotel has been totally renovated in September 2004. It is located in the centre of Granada, just a few minutes away from the city's commercial and monumental centre and the Alhambra. It is easy to reach from the airport, train station and main roads. It has 169 rooms offering customers maximum comfort, convenience and state-of-the-art technology. Its excellent facilities are rounded off with the "Al-Zagal" – à la carte restaurant, a bar-café, English pub, covered car park and 4 multi purpose rooms, with a capacity for 20 to 250 people, fully equipped to hold any kind of event.
