Palacio De Santa InesThis small and enchanting hotel, overlooking the Alhambra, dates back to the 16th century and is situated close to Plaza Nueva in the Albayzin quarter. It occupies the Iberian Peninsula and is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea. The hotel is situated in the old Albayzín, a neighbourhood that has been declared by the Unesco as World Heritage. It also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla Its total surface area is 504,788 sq kms Spain's powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England. From the hotels galleries guests can contemplate the spectacular panoramic views of the Alhambre day or night. Subsequent failure to embrace the mercantile and industrial revolutions caused the country to fall behind Britain, France, and Germany in economic and political power. Recommended in various hotel guides including 'Small Charming Hotels' (Pequeños Hoteles con Encanto). Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II, but suffered through a devastating Civil War (1936-39).

Rooms

Any antique or contemporary art lover will be able to enjoy countless interesting pieces scattered around the hotel and its rooms. From many of the rooms the views of the Alhambra and Albayzín are unforgettable. All the rooms are equipped with bathroom accessories. Some of them have jacuzzi baths and some have shower or hydromassage units.

Hotel details

The hotel comprises two small Mudejar buildings, that were built during the 16th century. The Alhambra Hall has an authentic Mudéjar panelled roof built in 1512 and for special occasions it can be converted into a dining room for groups of up to 35. Its outstanding patio is beautifully decorated with paintings, a fountain, columns, balustrades, ornamental tiles and in particular the renaissance paintings given by Alejandro Mayner and Giulio Romano, disciples of Rafael, who came to Granada in 1520 to paint the Peinador de la Reina in the Alhambra and also the Palacio de Santa Inés.

Travel information

By Car: - From the Autovia de Granada take the middle lane on Calle Recogidas leading onto Calle Reyes Catolicos. - Here you will find a sign prohibiting the entrance of unauthorised vehicles, as a hotel guest you are authorised so continue forward. - When you reach Plaza Nueva if the access to on your left-hand side is closed ring the bell for the hotel and we will let you in. - Further up there is a sign for the hotel. We have a service to help guests with their luggage and cars (not available July and August). We recommend that you park in a public car park Neptuno located directly next to the Exit 129 (Recogidas Centro) and take a taxi to the Hotel due to the difference of the price of the car parks. The closest one is more expensive. We do however offer valet parking between 10:00 and 18:00 if you choose to leave your car in the closest more expensive car park (not available July or August).

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Buffet breakfast costs EUR 10.70 per person. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  One child under 12 years stays free of charge in an extra bed.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 45.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
