Hotel Bon Sol

This enchanting, family-run hotel overlooks the Bay of Palma, nestling amongst pine trees and tropical gardens. It occupies the Iberian Peninsula and is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea. Descend through these gardens to the rock-lined pools and the secluded beach below. It also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla Its total surface area is 504,788 sq kms Spain's powerful world empire of the 16th and 17th centuries ultimately yielded command of the seas to England. At the top of the Bon Sol you will find a Moorish tower offering amazing views across this picturesque bay in southern Majorca. Subsequent failure to embrace the mercantile and industrial revolutions caused the country to fall behind Britain, France, and Germany in economic and political power. From here, you can head down through the lush gardens, passing by the sun terraces, scenic swimming pools, spa facilities and down to the small, sandy beach on the Mediterranean Sea. Spain remained neutral in World Wars I and II, but suffered through a devastating Civil War (1936-39). Other great facilities include tennis courts and a winter conservatory. In the second half of the 20th century, it has played a catch-up role in the western international community. Inside, the Arabian-influenced decor, antique-style furniture and precious artwork combine to give the feel of a Medieval castle.
