This makes the hotel an ideal and relaxing place to stay when exploring the UNESCO World Heritage site that is the cultural city of Toledo. In the second half of the 20th century, it has played a catch-up role in the western international community.

Places of interest: Cathedral: paintings by El Greco, Juan de Borgoña, Rubens, Bassano and Goya. Santa Cruz Museum: this is currently the city’s main museum. Alcázar: Muslim fortress, completely renovated by Emperor Charles V to accommodate the royal seat Hospital Tavera: home to a museum with works by great masters including most notably the Baptism of Christ by El Greco. Puerta de Bisagra: triumphal arch dedicated to Emperor Charles of Habsburg, Cristo de la Luz Mosque, Museum/House of El Greco (a broad range of works by the Cretan painter), El Tránsito Synagogue (14th century) and Santa María la Blanca Synagogue (13th century). Round the corner: Even if you do not have a car, you can take a quiet walk along the ring road, from the bridge of San Martín, and admire the classic view of the city built on the river Tajo. The route ends at the medieval bridge of Alcántara, where the remains of Roman aqueduct and the castle of San Servando may be seen. The river basin is site of the remarkable neo-Mudejar style Railway Station, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century. Madrid is aprox. one hour and a half by car.

From the city centre: 1 km From the main Convention Centre: 1 km Airplane: From Madrid-Barajas airport, take the motorway M-40 till the joint with the road A-42, exit B-68 (Toledo City Center). Go straight ahead until the Puerta Bisagra roundabout. Turn around and take the Madrid direction. The hotel is on this road, just opposite the bullfight ring. Average travel time: 1h,15 min Distance: 70 Km Average cost by taxi: 60€ Train: From the Renfe railway station, take the route until you reach a roundabout. Go straight ahead and reach the roundabout next to Puerta Bisagra Gate. Turn right into Madrid direction. The hotel is situated opposite the bullfight ring. Bus nº 5 on the railway station stop at Marqués de Mendigorría bus stop. Time: 7 min Distance: 1,5 km Average cost by taxi: 5€ Car: Access from the North Taking the motorway M-40 from Madrid, joint the road A-42, take the exit B-68 (Toledo City Centre). Go straight ahead until the Puerta Bisagra roundabout. Turn around and take the Madrid direction. The hotel is on this road, just opposite the bullfight ring. Access from the South Take the road N-IV (E-5) and joint the road CM-400 in Madridejos. Access from the West Take the road N-V and joint the road N-403 in Maqueda till Toledo. Go straight ahead by Barber Avenue and on the roundabout of Plaza Colon. Go ahead by Duque de Lerma Street and turn left on Cardenal Tavera Street in the Madrid direction. The Hesperia Toledo hotel is situated just opposite the bullfight ring. Access from the East Take the road N-III and joint the N-400 in Tarancón.
